You might have noticed posts are scant around here nowadays. There’s a reason for that. I have discovered Board Game Arena.
Board Game Arena is a site where you can play board games for free with people around the world. You can play board games for free. There are 1,000 to choose from. They’re free. This should not exist. Humanity doesn’t deserve this.
And the site is good. Matchmaking is quick and simple. Good community is encouraged. There are tutorials that teach you how to play, plus notes and strategy tips. The notes and strategy tips you can edit yourself, like a wiki. New games are added nearly every week. They have brand names and games with licensed IP. It’s well-coded, robust. If something goes wrong, just refresh. You’ll still be in the same game as if you never left.
This takes place entirely in a browser. No app needed. No software. Play anywhere anytime. This is too good to be true, but it’s true.
There is music. You can play theme appropriate music while you’re playing the game. Fantasy music for fantasy games. Spy and crime jazz for thief games. Forest music for animal games. You can add your own music to the playlist. And remove it if you don’t like it or it doesn’t fit the theme.
