    With the underperformance of every Summer and Winter blockbuster this year (Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, Strange World, Avatar: The Way of Water), it’s clear the movie theater is dying. You will never see another blockbuster box-office banger like Avatar or Avengers: Endgame or Titanic or The Dark Knight, even though most of those are recent movies (which might just be because of inflation, giving you an idea of how big 1997’s Titanic was).     Coco’s Stupid Anti-Piracy Message Ruins Coco

    I saw Coco this weekend. Good movie, emotionally comparable to Up. Seems predictable though (even my eight-year-old told me she’s sick of stories where someone good turns out to be someone bad e.g. Frozen, Toy Story 2, Up, Monsters, Inc., Wall-E, Toy Story 3, etc.) But there was a thing that bothered me — a thing that ruins the movie experience (besides the four year old behind me who can’t shut up and shouldn’t have been taken to a movie if he can’t stay quiet).     I’ve Figured Out Movies

    Last week, I went to see “The Hunger Games” in theaters, mostly because my wife wanted to, and we don’t get to see movies in the theater very often.  I allocate myself one movie per year usually (this year will be “The Dark Knight Rises”).  This was an exception.  But in going to the theater, I’ve figured out why theaters are dying out, why its so hard to get asses in seats.
