I’m just about done with this “I Should vs. I Want to” thread I’ve got going on SFFWorld.com. For one thing, it still seems the users are so steeped in their “How dare you insult the classics by implying it’s may not be necessary to read them if you’re a writer.” There’s only one guy that’s arguing with me, and he’s always misinterpreting my response. Weird Weekend for writing
It was a weird weekend for story idea generating. I thought of lots of good things, but my ambition outweighs my ability to create. For example, I want to include a crossover between the characters, and now is a perfect time to do it. The problem is A) I haven’t written Character B’s story yet, so I don’t know where he’ll be in the plot (only generally). This would have been easier if I had written both their parts at the same time. B) I can’t seem to find a way to do it without spoiling one of the mysteries. The Difficulties of Summaries and Criticism
Yesterday, my wife was asking about my book Blood 2: The Unforgiven. I’ve now come up with a maxim for one of my previous statements: “Whatever you don’t think will get criticized, will get criticized”. Kind of like Murphy’s Law. She commented that the title didn’t appeal to her. This was strange to me, because I’ve never thought of the story as anything BUT Blood 2: The Unforgiven. I can’t imagine what else it would be.
