Planet Money recently ran a podcast about why Americans don’t take more days off from work. In fact, even if they had as many government-required days off as Europe or South America, they wouldn’t take it. Last year, Americans left $65 billion dollars worth of vacation on the table. Just forfeited it. And the funny part is Planet Money couldn’t find a real answer why America is such an outlier when it comes to this. Cragun’s Resort Review
I just got back from a three-day stay at Cragun’s and I feel like I have to take a vacation from my vacation. The food is disgusting. The accommodations are outmoded. Everything feels muddy and grimy. I know it’s a lake resort, but the inside shouldn’t feel like the lake. The first night, I was woken at 2:30 AM by the people next door, loudly clapping and drunkenly singing. We immediately called the front desk. They did nothing. Disneyworld 2: The Reckoning
I just came back from Disneyworld, my second vacation there in two years. Most of my comments about that time are unchanged. Didn’t do much new this time around. Even stayed in the same resort (the Grand Floridian). Unfortunately, we went in the time between when they announced a huge amount of changes, but they’re all under construction. The only stuff of note that I didn’t do last time was the new Pandora land. The Na’vi River Journey itself is pretty, and the Flight of Passage is a nice upgrade to my beloved Back to the Future: The Ride. But I have a huge criticism – they have no stories.…

EscapePod Goes On Vacation
In the car on the way to work, I no longer listen to the radio. Today’s radio is asinine, libelious, and insulting to my intelligence. I mostly listen to my MP3 player. My staples are old episodes of Loveline, the Adam Carolla Show, and EscapePod. Currently, EscapePod is going on hiatus. That’s what it is, but not what the publisher calls it. Sorry for the none of you who read this on a regular basis for the lack of posts. I took some sudden vacation because I realized I had some to burn, and my wife was going out of town for several days. Back from Vacation
Had a three day vacation to get some stuff done at home. Stuff mostly consisting of watching anime, having an eye appointment, and playing Shadow of the Colossus. I got two e-mails from people who want to be Dedicated Readers for Blood 2. Joy! I guess the limited preface worked better than the wordy one that probably scared people off.
