A week ago, I voluntarily went to a seminar/exercise about “workplace styles, motivators, and communicators”. I thought this would be good for me to learn ways to be a leader when you’re an introvert. (I’m supposed to be a tech lead in my new job, but so far I haven’t done anything leady yet. And I’m dreading it. None of my experiences with being a leader have been positive or yielded positive results. But you can’t advance in this line of work unless you take some kind of management role. ) Unfortunately, this seminar wasn’t what I thought it would be. I thought they’d bring in a speaker or professional…

In Which I Find Out What Hogwarts House I’m In
I’ve never taken a sorting hat quiz. I read all the books, watched all the movies, but never truly knew which house I’d be sorted into. Maybe because I was afraid the answer wouldn’t be what I thought. I always believed I’d be in Hufflepuff, the house for the nobodies, the extras. I’m not ambitious, I’m not clever, I’m not brave. It’s where you go if you don’t have a significant role in life. Hufflepuff is for the soldiers, the guys in the trenches working hard and not switching sides. Those who are patient, fair, humble, and tolerant. It’s for the people for, not so much what they are, but…

Another Hiatus
So another hiatus. Well, I call it a hiatus, but I should call it not doing my goddamn job. Not that it’s a job, just a hobby. But not committing yourself to the writing means you’re not writing. It’s not like knitting — you follow instructions, twist some yarn, and afterwards you got a cute little amigurumi. I will call him Squishy and he will be my Squishy. Writing is something that’s a creative endeavor. It means pulling something out of nothing. It means putting something out there that wasn’t there before. And that’s super hard. Unlike most other arts, it’s 100% sequential. One word has to follow the other.…

These Days
These days. I’m more interested in writing my erotic fan fiction than working on anything publishable. Not sure why that is. Maybe it’s the sexual nature of it — gets me excited. Maybe cause I know I can’t get rejected from fan fiction. Sure my acceptance ratio is 10%, higher than normal. But some days, especially during this winter season, it feels like playing handball against the curtains. And writing queries and submitting short stories is such a pain in the ass. I don’t care that each agent has different requirements, I’m fine with that. But each one is always in some different place on the website. In a different…

My Philosophy on Writing Women, Part 2 – The Debate
Don’t bite my head off yet. This is a list of tips that I collected over time regarding common mistakes writer make when writing from a woman’s point of view. Most of them come from David Farland/David Wolverton — a published, well-known author, most known for the Runelords series. And he is directly quoting from other women. So if you want to directly complain about the content, complain to him. Here is some excerpts from that e-mail (it’s not on his site, archives don’t go back that far) and another link to a similar post to mine. Here is his site. When I originally posted this, I was accused of…
