I got another request to do a novel exchange, this time with an actually published author. Granted he’s from Spain, and English isn’t his first language (or second), but I’m quite happy that, if my wife ever finishes her Kathy Reichs’ books, I’ll have four pairs of eyes looking at it. This is good, because it means people are interested in reading it. And if people are interested, maybe publishers will see that too. Hopefully, I get thoughtful reviews and critiques. My Teeny Collection
On the right you can see my new LibraryThing catalog that will show you five random books that I’ve read or can remember reading. After what I consider to be an exhaustive pass through my memory and my collection, I discovered that I’ve read around 132 books. This disappoints me really, in my quest to become a writer, as I realize that I really haven’t read that many “books”. Most of my time during high school and college was wasted reading Star Trek books (most of which I haven’t listed) and fan fiction. Since I’ve started my new work, I’ll be putting in some more Writing Advice columns in here, mostly to remind myself of the things I’m supposed to be doing as I’m writing. Come to grips with the fact that you’re not going to be able to write at the same time & place all the time. Adjust and keep going. Writing on a train is great. Certainly true.
